Impurities within the oilseed may damage the edible oil equipment in the cleaning and separating process. Fines among the the seeds may clog the hardware. Chaff left in the seed absorbs oil and prevents it from being expelled by the oilseed cleaning equipment. Sand in the seed will lead to wear, and stones within the feed can damage screws in the oilseed cleaning equipment and/or pistons.

KMEC has designed its cleaners and separators to withstand these perils while producing a quality product. A durable, efficient vibrating screen was installed to extract the worst of impurities. A suction-style specific gravity destoner was put in place to remove rocks and mud. In its cleaners and separators KMEC also emplaces a dust-cleaning system to ensure a clean work environment.
